We
are in desperate need of items and donations. We could use blankets
and towels as well as a great supply of Nature's Miracle for those not
so housetrained pets that do not like to go out in the cold to do their
business. If you have any old blankets or perhaps you can pick one or
two up at a local thrift shop, we would appreciate it. Also if you would
like to purchase a gift certificate at a local pet store, we can then
purchase the products and food we so desperateley need. Please look
around your home and your heart and check out our needs page at Waggin' Tails Needs and maybe you could help us out.
Some
people have questioned the amount of money we ask for a donation when
we adopt out an animal. Consider the cost of purchasing a dog/cat,
paying for it's shots and neutering and then compare it to the amount we
ask for our animals. We do not pay anyone on our staff of volunteers
and therefore the entire amount of your donation goes to the animals. We
have a few little guys now that have undergone costly surgery and some
that require monthly medication. Our veterinary bills are starting to
look like my home heating bill in the winter!! If you are a client at Brodheadsville Vet Clinic,
consider a contribution to our bills there. While they are kind enough
to let us pay them over a course of time, they appreciate any payments
we make along the way.
We
are still in dire need of people to help answer our phones!! We receive
over 30 calls a day and we need your help!! Volunteering to do a four
hour shift, once a week would help us out so much! We are working on
getting an internet connection set up, but until we do, we apologize for
not answering all of your e-mails. Please contact us if you can help us
in any computer, or e- mailing ways.
VERY EXCITING NEWS, We purchased a wonderful property with and old farm house.
We
will finally be able to help so many more animals in our No-Kill
sanctuary/shelter. We will build a spay/neuter clinic and be able to
help so many more animals. We have so many great plans and so little
money.
